Biography in Sunflowers was presented in the United States: in Manhattan, New York as well as in the International Learning Center in Florida; since 2000, in several cultural centers in Poland: the House of Culture in Ornontowice, the Hunter’s Lodge in Promnice, the Energy Club Gallery in Rybnik, the Tower Room of the Town Hall of Ornontowice, the District Seat Hall in Mikołów, the Regional Museum in Rybnik, the District and Municipal Public Library in Rybnik, and the Museum of Wodzislaw Śląski.
Her works were included in national collective exhibitions on multiple occasions. The following displays took place in the Museum of Rybnik in the summer of 2005 and in the Museum of Wadowice in December, 2006 to January, 2007 –an exhibition dedicated to our compatriot, Pope John Paul II—as well as in many other cultural centers. Worth mentioning is the exhibition titled “Paradise Not Lost”, organized in December, 2011 by the Silesian Museum in Katowice as part of cultural events correlated to the Polish Presidency of the European Union’s High Council. In that exhibition, Maria Kulawik’s work Hope was presented. By way of the canonization of Polish Pope John Paul II in 2014, a thanksgiving service was celebrated in Ornontowice’s parish church with a poetic-musical show accompanied by an exhibit of the Biography in Sunflowers, which the artist dedicated to St. John Paul II. Since 2008, two of Maria’s works are part of the collections of the Silesian Museum in Katowice, and one in the Rybnik Museum. A special exhibition was organized in Ornontowice’s Cultural Center in June, 2015 to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Maria’s artistic work. In December, 2015 her paintings were presented at the XXIII Polish National Van Gogh Art Competition at the Rybnik Regional Theater in Silesia, Poland.
